Therapist Supervision in Toronto

Supportive, experienced clinical supervision for therapists in Toronto.
Supervision is not just about meeting requirements. It is where your clinical work becomes clearer, more grounded, and more effective. I offer a collaborative and respectful space to explore your cases, refine your skills, and continue developing as a therapist.

Therapist Supervision May Be A Good Fit If You Are:

Allan Findlay: Toronto Couples, Family, and Individual Therapist. Therapist Supervisor.

Take the Next Step in Your Clinical Growth

If you are interested in EFT supervision, I would be glad to speak with you about what you are looking for. Whether you are pursuing certification, need qualifying supervision hours, or want support in deepening your clinical work, we can explore whether working together would be a good fit.

The ideal outcome of attachment-based therapy is an individual who is balanced emotionally, mentally open, flexible in terms of action, deeply engaged and alive and, above all, able to learn to grow.” (Johnson, 2019, p. 75)

Sometimes present pain is rooted in old wounds

If you are working toward EFT certification or looking to deepen your clinical work, I offer supervision that supports both your development and your confidence as a therapist. Supervision is available individually, in dyads, or in small groups.
Therapist Supervision

What This Supervision Offers

  • Support in developing your EFCT, EFIT, or EFFT skills
  • A space to reflect on clinical work and difficult cases
  • Feedback on recorded sessions and key therapeutic moments
  • Guidance toward EFT certification requirements
  • A collaborative and respectful supervision process

Approach to Supervision

My supervision is grounded in the same principles as Emotionally Focused Therapy. This includes a focus on mutual respect, clear goals, and a relationship that is responsive, collaborative, and attentive to your experience as a therapist. Supervision is not only about technique. It is also about how you experience your clients, your reactions in the room, and the therapeutic relationship itself.

Learning Through Practice

Reviewing recordings of your sessions is one of the most effective ways to develop EFT skills. Together, we explore key moments in your work, helping you understand emotional processes, attachment patterns, and intervention choices more clearly. Supervision also addresses therapist responses, including transference and countertransference, to support greater awareness and effectiveness in your work.

Certification Pathways

Clinical supervision hours with me qualify toward certification in EFCT, EFIT, and EFFT.

General expectations include:

  • Completion of required EFT training levels
  • Participation in consultation or core skills training
  • Review of recorded sessions (minimum 8 hours for certification)

For full and current certification requirements, please refer to the ICEEFT website.

The Supervision Relationship

Research consistently shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship plays a central role in outcomes. The same applies to supervision.

A strong supervision relationship is:

  • Respectful
  • Supportive
  • Open and collaborative
  • Focused on growth and learning

My role is not only to guide your clinical work, but to create a space where you can think more clearly, explore freely, and continue developing your voice as a therapist.

Your role play provided words for your supervisee and you modelled how to intervene really well. I thought you created a great learning environment. You will – I am sure – be much in demand in Toronto.”
Allison Lee, Ph.D – EFT Supervisor and Trainer

“You are a very gifted and skilled EFT therapist and supervisor. I learned a lot with our supervision meetings. I often think of you, especially after my couples EFT sessions.”
