Afton Taborek: Client Care Coordinator
Afton Taborek, M.H.Sc.
I will often be the first person you connect with when you reach out to New Insights Counselling by phone, text or email. I understand that taking the first step toward counselling can be difficult or feel vulnerable, so I aim to make every interaction warm, supportive and reassuring. I am passionate about making therapy feel accessible and welcoming in your first conversation. I strive to make you feel heard, supported, and confident about what your next steps might look like.
Background
I hold a Master of Health Services and have a background in health research, where I contributed to improving patient experiences through evidence-based studies, coordinated patient services, and managed communications. I am experienced in supporting people in crisis, trained as a crisis responder for Kids Help Phone. I am also passionate about supporting women’s health and have volunteered with the Women’s Support Network of York Region.
I bring a combination of academic expertise, frontline support experience, and a compassionate, client-centred approach to this role. Whether you are looking for couples counselling, individual therapy or family counselling, I’m here to answer your questions, help you explore your options, and connect you with the right therapist who is the best fit for you.
